The Illinois legislature was busy in the recent veto session in Springfield, updating recent laws that have broad implications for our clients (particularly the update to the Electric Vehicle Charging Act). The most relevant update from the recent veto session included an expansion of the Electric Vehicle Charging Act to apply to existing condominium and homeowner associations, as well as coops. In short, condo, HOA, and coop boards are going to have to prepare for requests from owners and renters as the proliferation of electric vehicles (and their owners’ desire to charge them in their own homes) continues to expand.
